Coolstream Zee u-boot with ni340 nevis image failes to boot

Hi guys,

i tried to update my Coolstream Zee to the latest NI 340 Nevis Image.
After the Update the image failes to load:

Hi,
FAT32 is the right one. Try more sticks, older smaller ones are better than newer ones. Unfortunately the Coolie is very picky about that.

Have you upgraded from a really old image to this new one? If so, by what method (normal flash per "local update") ?

Yes I came from an very old version - 2.10 i think.
I used the local update via USB device (same device is unaccessible now...)

I'm running out of usb sticks (about 10) and even tried some older ones (512mb).
Is there an option to directly flash via Serial connection without usb?

There is an other possibility. The coolstream Neo and Zee first Generation have an uboot you can't recover via USB.

at least you need a working USB stick. I would not see any advantage in using Y-modem connection to recovery u-boot file. This problem is not u-boot related, it is a "usual error" of incompatibility between neutrino system and kernel and what you need to recover it is a working usb stick (as already mentioned here: older once, I would say up to 4GB are more likely to be detected).
If automatic detection during booting is not working it might help to use command usbup via serial connection as you already tried on this USB stick.
FAT32 file system is required on the USB-stick. Might help to use a formatting program like SD card formatter: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/format ... index.html (also works an USB sticks), or http://rufus.akeo.ie/ (simply create FAT32 file system without checking bootable disk).
Disconnect any other external hardware from the receiver.
By my knowledge backside USB port should also be compatible to recovery process, so try backside port.
If your stick is still not working: try harder to find one compatible with CST box (sometimes not easy but not impossible).
For recovery it requires system.img and kernel.img directly on the root of the USB stick or in subfolder "coolsteam" (cant remember it, I simply copy the files always twice on the stick). You might create another logfile from recovery if it still fails but there is nothing more to say to "scanning bus for storage devices... 0 Storage Device(s) found"
PS: Have you used the front USB-port ? Might be damaged, loose cable connection is a common problem (not sure if Zee has a onboard front USB or if it is connected via cable)

Thanks for your feedback. Yes I used the front usb ports.

The ports in the back doen't seeam to work at all, because the leds on the sticks doesn't power up there.
I will try to get some more usb sticks in the next days and keep trying.

furthermore I'm interested in what's the other possibility to recover the box?
